SSFS Grafting Workshop and Scionwood Exchange
Learn to make your own tree by grafting rootstock onto the scion wood of your choice or an existing tree. We will demonstrate grafting and have custom grafting available ($10). We will have various rootstocks for sale ($4) , and scion wood from many apples pears and plums ($1). We will have grafting knives for sale and the other incidentals used in grafting.
The workshop is on March 2 from 10:30 am to 2 PM at Grub Farmhouse, 2016 Elliott Ave, NW, Olympia, WA 98502. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

SSFS Workshop: Fruit Tree Pruning at Harmony Farm Preserve
Hello everyone,
Due to the weather forecast for this weekend, we have decided to cancel the Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop that was scheduled for this Saturday, February 9th.
We plan to reschedule and will let you know when the new date has been set (tentatively for February 23). If you cannot make the new date (I will send a follow up email in the coming days to confirm the date), please let me know ASAP so that I can allow waitlisted folks to sign up.

SSFS Nov 2018 Meeting: Maple Syrup and Apple Cider
Peg Amandes will talk about making maple syrup from our native Big Leaf Maples and other trees growing in the Pacific Northwest.
Brian Williams will talk about the basics of brewing hard cider at home. There are many apples this time of year and for some people too many to know what to with them all. Learn how to convert your excess apples into juice and alcoholic cider.
