SSFS Workshop: Fruit Tree Pruning at Harmony Farm Preserve

Due to the weather forecast for this weekend, we have decided to cancel the Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop that was scheduled for this Saturday, February 9th.

We plan to reschedule and will let you know when the new date has been set (tentatively for February 23). If you cannot make the new date (I will send a follow up email in the coming days to confirm the date), please let me know ASAP so that I can allow waitlisted folks to sign up.

SSFS Workshop: Pruning Vines: Kiwis and Grapes

Pruning Kiwis and Grapes Workshop

SSFS Nov 2018 Meeting: Maple Syrup and Apple Cider

Peg Amandes will talk about making maple syrup from our native Big Leaf Maples and other trees growing in the Pacific Northwest.
Brian Williams will talk about the basics of brewing hard cider at home. There are many apples this time of year and for some people too many to know what to with them all. Learn how to convert your excess apples into juice and alcoholic cider.

June 2018 Meeting: Conversation with Bill Horn

South Sound Fruit Society Members and Friends,

The topic of this month’s meeting program is a Conversation with Bill Horn. He has been active and past president in the Tahoma chapter of the WCFS. Currently he is managing the WCFS booth at the State Fair in Puyallup in Sept. and working with the Curran Orchard in University Place. He is knowledgeable about various heritage orchards in the Dupont area. He is a Master Gardener and teaches a class in insects.

The meeting is on Tuesday June 5th at Grub Farmhouse from 7 PM to 9PM. Grub is located at 2016 Elliott Ave, NW, Olympia ,98502. All are welcome!
